Our horse-breeding farm is located on a 40-acre ranch about 5 miles north of Kalispell, Montana. Our facility consists of a large indoor arena, which is a must for Montana winters, several rotational pastures, paddocks, round pens, automatic waterers, and inside hay storage. There are 12 stalls with outdoor runs for the mares that come here during breeding season. For their comfort we also provide a beautiful view. Currently there are 3 stallions standing at stud. They represent 2 of the existing 8 Canadien Horse breed bloodlines. All of the mares, however, are from the same Missouri Foxtrotter bloodline.

Most of the training takes place between February and May when the foals are from 20 – 24 months of age. This is a good time to start their groundwork, getting them desensitized early is important to our 4 level training program that I cover in the next section, “Training Program”.
